Çaykur Rizespor — Last 6
Konyaspor — Last 6

Çaykur Rizespor host Konyaspor in the Trendyol Süper Lig on Friday evening, 1 May 2026, with the table tight and the margins thin. Konyaspor sit eighth on 40 points, just three clear of Rizespor in ninth, so this isn’t just another spring fixture — it’s a straight fight for finish-line position, pride and a better-looking final haul. Neither side is in a perfect place, but both can still make a decent late-season case for themselves.

Recep Uçar’s Rizespor arrive with 37 points from 31 matches, and their season has the familiar feel of a team that can hurt opponents but rarely keeps things tidy for long. İlhan Palut’s Konyaspor are a point more consistent overall, and their recent run has been the stronger one. They’ve also got the psychological edge from recent meetings. That matters here. So does the fact that both sides have been open enough all season to keep goals in the conversation.

Konyaspor’s week has been busy, too. They beat Trabzonspor 2-1 at home on 27 April, having already held Fenerbahçe to a goalless draw in the Turkish Cup a few days earlier. Rizespor, by contrast, were beaten 2-0 away at Kayserispor last time out and need a response. Friday night gives them that chance. But Konyaspor have been travelling well enough to make this awkward.

Çaykur Rizespor Form & Analysis

Rizespor’s recent league form has been a bit of a rollercoaster, and not the fun kind. They fell 2-1 at Fatih Karagümrük on 5 April, then got thumped 4-1 at home by Samsunspor four days later before finding a much-needed lift with a 2-1 home win over Gaziantep FK on 13 April. A 2-2 draw away to Fenerbahçe followed, which was a solid point on paper, but the momentum didn’t last. Their trip to Kayserispor ended in a 2-0 defeat, and that’s the sort of result that leaves you looking over your shoulder rather than pushing forward.

There is, though, enough attacking life in this side to keep them dangerous. Rizespor have scored 41 league goals and conceded 44, which tells you exactly what they are: lively, a bit loose, and capable of both scoring and conceding in the same spell of play. At home they’ve been far more competitive, with seven wins, two draws and six defeats at their ground, plus 19 goals scored and 19 conceded. That balance is the clue. They’re not bulletproof, but they do carry a threat in Rize, and they’ve been involved in a lot of open games there.

Their home results also point to a side that rarely sits back and waits. The 4-1 win over Samsunspor and the 2-1 success against Gaziantep show they can break teams down when they get on the front foot. At the same time, the defensive side is never far from trouble. A home record with exactly as many goals conceded as scored is fine for entertainment. It’s not great if you’re trying to close out matches. And with Rizespor without a clean sheet in six straight league matches from the wider form sample, you’d expect the opposition to get chances here too.

Konyaspor Form & Analysis

Konyaspor’s recent run has been the sharper one. They’ve won four of their last six league matches and are unbeaten in nine overall, which is a strong sequence at this stage of the season. The 2-2 draw at Samsunspor on 5 April kept the rhythm going, then they beat Gençlerbirliği 1-0 at home, followed that with a convincing 3-0 home win over Fatih Karagümrük, and then won 2-0 away at Antalyaspor. The 0-0 cup draw with Fenerbahçe was disciplined, not flashy, and the 2-1 win over Trabzonspor last time out was the latest confirmation that they’re carrying real confidence into this one.

The away record is decent rather than dominant. Konyaspor have won four, drawn four and lost seven on the road, scoring 19 and conceding 26. That’s a bit too open to call them reliable travellers, but it does tell you they’re capable of scoring away from home and rarely leave matches dead. They’ve found the net in enough away games to stay involved, and that matters in a contest like this. Their biggest issue on the road has been control. Too often, matches become stretched.

Mind you, they’ve still been effective enough to keep winning. Berkan Kutlu’s double against Trabzonspor was the headline last weekend, and even though the shot count leaned against them, they still found a way to take three points. That’s a useful trait. İlhan Palut’s side don’t need to boss a game to hurt you. They can soak up pressure, stay in the contest and wait for openings. Against a Rizespor side that doesn’t keep many clean sheets, that’s a handy formula.

Head-to-Head

These two have been trading fairly tight games for a while. Their last league meeting finished 1-1 in Konya on 6 December 2025, and before that Konyaspor edged a 2-1 home win in May 2025. Rizespor have had their moments too, winning 2-1 away in September 2023 and drawing 1-1 at home in December 2024. Go back a bit further and there was a goalless draw in Rize in February 2024 and a 2-1 home win for Rizespor in April 2022. It’s a pretty familiar pattern. Neither side tends to run away with it.

The strongest H2H angle is simple enough: both teams have scored in seven of the last eight meetings. That fits the broader feel of the fixture. Rizespor are rarely watertight, Konyaspor are usually good for chances of their own, and the result has often been decided by a moment rather than a lock-down display. One more thing? Konyaspor are unbeaten in five straight head-to-heads. That won’t terrify Rizespor, but it does lean the way of the visitors.

We Predict: Both Teams To Score

We’re backing Both Teams To Score at 4/6 for this one. It’s the cleanest angle on the board. Rizespor have the home profile of a side that usually get on the scoresheet but don’t keep things shut, while Konyaspor have scored in enough away games and are coming in with the better form. That combination is hard to ignore, especially with the recent H2H pattern sitting firmly on the same side.

The 1-1 correct score looks right, and it matches the feel of the fixture. Rizespor should create chances at home, Konyaspor have the sharper edge right now, and both teams have enough flaws to prevent a truly controlled game. If you want a little extra spice, over 2.5 goals isn’t a bad alternative, but BTTS is the safer call. This one should have both nets bulging.
