Paris FC — Last 6
Lille — Last 6

Paris FC host Lille in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening, 26 April 2026, and this one has proper weight at both ends of the table. Paris sit 11th on 38 points, safe enough on paper but not quite comfortable, while Lille are up in third with 54 points and chasing a finish that would keep them in the Champions League places. That’s the bigger picture. One side are trying to keep their momentum alive and climb into the top half with a strong finish; the other are trying to protect a high-ranking season and keep the pressure on the teams above them.

There’s also a neat contrast in recent form. Paris FC arrive unbeaten in eight league matches, which sounds impressive because it is, even if plenty of those results have been draws. Lille, by contrast, have the sharper edge in the table and the better away record, and they’ve spent most of the campaign looking like a side built for the top four. This should be a real test of Paris FC’s resilience. Can they turn all those draws into something bigger against one of the league’s best travelling sides?

Paris FC Form & Analysis

Paris FC’s recent run has been all about grit, confidence and just enough quality at key moments. Their last outing brought a 3-1 away win at Metz on 19 April, a result that was more convincing than the scoreline alone might suggest. They were sharp in front of goal, with Alimami Gory and Giorgi Kvilitaia striking in the first half, Otávio adding another after the break and Ilan Kebbal wrapping things up late on. The underlying numbers were tidy too: 1.74 xG generated, only 1.01 conceded, and three big chances created. That wasn’t a smash-and-grab. It was a proper away performance.

Before that, they put four past Monaco at home in a 4-1 win on 10 April, which remains one of the loudest results in their season. That came after a 1-1 draw at Lorient and a 3-2 home win over Le Havre, so there’s a clear pattern here. Paris FC have been hard to shake off, and they’ve also found ways to score in different game states — early, late, from open play and through set-piece moments. The flip side? They’ve still been too open at times. Their home record reads 5 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats, with 22 scored and 25 conceded at this ground. That’s fine for a mid-table side, but it doesn’t scream control.

The broader trend is even more striking. Paris FC are unbeaten in eight league matches, and that kind of run does change the mood around a club. Still, not all unbeaten streaks are equal. Four of those games have been draws, and the home defensive record tells you why they keep leaving the door ajar. They’ve scored freely enough to stay in games — 40 league goals in total, which is healthy — but they’ve also conceded 46, and that imbalance stops them from looking like a truly settled side. You’d expect them to get chances here. You’d also expect Lille to punish any loose moments.

Lille Form & Analysis

Lille arrive with a different kind of confidence. Their last league match was a flat 0-0 at home to Nice on 18 April, but that was more of a frustration than a warning sign. Before that, they were ruthless away at Toulouse, winning 4-0, and they had already swept past Lens 3-0 at home. Go back a little further and you find a 2-1 league win at Marseille, another result that underlined just how dangerous they are when the game opens up. The only real blemish in that stretch was the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa in the Europa League knockout stage on 19 March. Even that reads in context. It’s not a league issue, and it hasn’t derailed their domestic push.

Away from home, Lille have been excellent. Their league away record stands at 8 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats, with 26 goals scored and 20 conceded. That’s a serious return. It puts them second in the away table, and it’s the sort of profile that usually travels well into tight matches like this one. Bruno Genesio’s side don’t just nick results on the road; they’ve shown they can go after teams and finish them off. Four at Toulouse. Two at Marseille. That’s no accident.

There is a slight caution flag in the latest outing. Against Nice, Lille created very little — just 0.54 xG — and were held to only two shots on target. That can happen against a well-organised side, especially at home, but it does show they’re not immune to being blunted. Mind you, they also didn’t give much away, with Nice restricted to 0.19 xG and only one shot on target. So even on an off night, Lille stayed solid. That sort of defensive control matters when you’re going away from home to a team that doesn’t mind opening the game up. They’ve conceded only 34 league goals all season, and that balance between threat and restraint is why they’re sitting in third.

Head-to-Head

The recent head-to-head record leans Lille’s way, and it’s not hard to see why their camp will be fairly relaxed about this trip. Lille beat Paris FC 4-2 in their meeting on 23 November 2025, and while that’s the only recent top-flight meeting in the database, it did show how quickly Lille can hurt Paris when space appears. Paris haven’t had a clean sheet in the last three meetings between the clubs either, which nudges this fixture towards goals rather than caution.

Go a little further back and the history is sparse but mildly useful. Paris FC drew 1-1 with Lille in March 1979, while Lille also won 4-2 in September 1978. It’s not a long modern rivalry, so there’s no point pretending there’s some huge psychological pattern at work. The cleaner takeaway is that Lille have already found a way past Paris FC once this season, and Paris haven’t shown they can shut them out.

We Predict: Double Chance X2

Double Chance X2 at 2/9 looks the right play here. Lille are too strong away from home, too high up the table and too reliable in this kind of fixture to leave empty-handed. Paris FC’s unbeaten run deserves respect, but too many of those results have been draws, and their home record isn’t the sort that scares a side sitting second in the away standings. That’s the issue for the hosts. They keep games alive, but they don’t always finish them.

The projected scoreline of 1-1 fits the shape of the match quite neatly. Paris FC should have moments — they usually do — and Lille’s most recent 0-0 at home to Nice hints that they won’t blow past everyone on command. Still, Lille’s quality on the road and their habit of picking up results away from home make X2 the strong angle. If you want a slightly bolder route, both teams to score has appeal too, especially with Paris FC scoring in five of their last six and Lille dangerous enough to get on the board even when they’re not at their slickest.
