PFK Montana 1921 — Last 6
FK Dobrudzha Dobrich — Last 6

PFK Montana 1921 host FK Dobrudzha Dobrich in the First Professional League’s Relegation Round on Monday evening, 27 April 2026, with both clubs still trying to drag themselves clear of danger. For Montana, who sit 16th with 17 points, this is about survival more than style. They’re deep in the bottom end of the table, short on wins, and every home game now carries the weight of a small final.

Dobrudzha aren’t exactly comfortable either. They’re 13th on 26 points, but that cushion doesn’t flatter them much when you look at the wider picture. Their overall record is patchy, their away form is dreadful, and they arrive in Montana without a win in five. That’s the ugly part. The better part? They’ve at least picked up enough points at home to keep some daylight between themselves and the bottom scraps. On the road, though, they’ve been almost permanently on the ropes.

There’s also a bit of familiar history here. These two met as recently as 21 February, when Dobrudzha edged Montana 1-0 on their own ground. That matters, but not enough to make this feel one-sided. Montana have been stubborn at home all season, and Dobrudzha’s travel sickness changes the tone completely. This has the feel of a tight, low-scoring relegation scrap. You’d expect that. Neither side has been convincing.

PFK Montana 1921 Form & Analysis

Montana’s recent run has been grim, and there’s no dressing it up. They drew 0-0 at home to Slavia Sofia on 16 April, which at least stopped the rot, but that came after a run of narrow defeats that have chipped away at confidence. CSKA Sofia beat them 1-0 in Montana, Arda Kardzhali won 2-1 away from home, Beroe took a 1-0 victory in Montana, Cherno More won by the same scoreline at their place, and Ludogorets rolled in and left with a 3-0 win. That’s five games without a win. Six if you count the draw as merely a pause rather than a reset. They’ve gone 18 matches without winning in all competitions. That’s the headline. It’s been that bad.

What’s striking is that they’re not being blown away every week. The 0-0 with Slavia was respectable on the numbers as well as the scoreline, with Montana producing 1.34 xG to Slavia’s 0.92, and forcing 14 shots to 7. They had five attempts on target too. So there’s at least some attacking intent there. The issue is sharper at the other end of the pitch, where they keep giving away the sort of game that slips away by a goal. Their home record tells the story neatly enough: 2 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses, with 9 goals scored and 20 conceded at home. That’s not a profile of a side that controls games. It’s a profile of a side that spends too much time surviving them.

Still, Montana have been awkward to beat in bursts, especially at home. They’ve drawn enough matches to suggest they can keep this one close if they settle early, and their recent home outings haven’t turned into wild shootouts. The problem is that they rarely grab the initiative. They’re often chasing the contest, and once they fall behind, the response isn’t usually strong enough. The numbers around their home scoring and defensive record point to a team living on the edge. One goal tends to matter. A lot.

FK Dobrudzha Dobrich Form & Analysis

Dobrudzha’s form isn’t much prettier, even if they’re in a slightly healthier position in the table. Their last six brought a 3-0 home defeat to Botev Plovdiv, a 1-0 loss away at Spartak Varna, a 2-2 draw with Levski Sofia, away defeats at CSKA Sofia and Arda Kardzhali, and before that a 1-0 home win over Beroe. That’s one win in six. Not great. They’ve also gone five matches without a victory now, which is exactly the kind of run that turns a comfortable-looking mid-table cushion into nervous shuffling.

The away record is where things get really ugly. Dobrudzha have managed just 2 points from 15 away league games, with no wins, 2 draws and 13 defeats. They’ve scored only 5 goals and conceded 25 on the road. That’s the sort of record that changes the whole mood of a match before a ball’s even kicked. Can they keep it tight away from home? There’s precious little evidence for that. They don’t score enough, and they concede too often. Their xG against Botev Plovdiv was only 0.58 in that latest home defeat, while they allowed 1.74 at the other end, and the six shots on target they conceded told a blunt story. They weren’t in control. They were hanging on, then falling apart.

The one result that keeps Dobrudzha’s case from collapsing entirely is the 2-2 draw with Levski Sofia. That showed they can still nick moments in a bigger game, especially at home. Yet away from home they’ve been miles off it, and the late nature of some of those defeats suggests a side that starts to unravel once the match gets away from them. They’ve not kept a clean sheet in five, and that’s a problem here because Montana won’t need many invitations. If Dobrudzha sit too deep, they’ll invite pressure. If they open up, they may well be punished. Simple as that.

Head-to-Head

This fixture has generally been tight, and there’s a clear low-scoring feel to the recent meetings. Dobrudzha edged the latest one 1-0 at home on 21 February 2026, while Montana won 1-0 in the reverse fixture last August. Go back a little further and you find a 1-1 draw in March 2025, plus a goalless draw in August 2024. Even the longer stretch beyond that is full of narrow margins rather than chaos.

That history matters because it fits the current shape of both teams. Five of the last five meetings have gone under 2.5 goals, and that’s hard to ignore when both sides arrive with blunt attacking numbers and plenty of caution attached. Don’t expect fireworks. This one rarely gives them.

We Predict: Double Chance 1X

We’re backing Double Chance 1X at 8/11 here, and it’s the sort of bet that suits a match with very little trust on either side but a decent enough lean towards the home team avoiding defeat. Montana aren’t winning much, that’s obvious. Yet at home they’ve at least been harder to turn over than Dobrudzha have been away, and that gap is massive. Dobrudzha’s travel record is the killer stat: no away wins, only 2 points from 15 trips, and 25 goals conceded. That’s not a small weakness. It’s the defining feature of their season on the road.

The projected 1-1 scoreline feels about right. Montana have enough about them to nick a goal, especially after creating 1.34 xG against Slavia, but Dobrudzha’s poor away defending gives them a route into the game too. Still, the safer read is that Montana won’t lose this. If you wanted a secondary angle, under 2.5 goals has obvious appeal given the recent head-to-head trend and both teams’ struggle for fluency. This should be tight. Very tight.
