Radomiak Radom — Last 6 matches
Widzew Łódź — Last 6 matches

Radomiak Radom host Widzew Łódź in the Ekstraklasa on Saturday afternoon, 18 April 2026, with both clubs staring at the wrong end of the table and feeling the pressure. Radomiak sit 15th on 34 points, just a point clear of Widzew in 17th, so this is one of those spring fixtures that can tilt a relegation scrap in a hurry. A win here would give either side a proper breather. A defeat would drag the loser back into the muck.

The game also has the feel of a close-run contest rather than a desperate slog. Radomiak have been stronger at home than their league position suggests, while Widzew arrive with a stubborn unbeaten run and a habit of keeping matches tight, even if they don’t always turn pressure into points. That tension matters. You can see why the market is leaning towards safety rather than a brave call on either side.

There’s also a familiar edge to this meeting. These two have produced lively games in recent seasons, with goals regularly appearing and neither defence especially keen on clean sheets. Radomiak will be looking to use home advantage to push away from danger, while Widzew know a positive result on the road could do wonders for morale. No one wants to blink first. That’s the whole story here.

Radomiak Radom Form & Analysis

Radomiak come into this one after a frustrating run that has dulled the edge of their season. Their last six league matches have brought just one win, and that was all the way back on 5 March, when they beat MZKS Arka Gdynia 3-1 at home. Since then, the rhythm has gone missing. They drew 1-1 with GKS Katowice, shared a 1-1 with Legia Warszawa, then lost 3-1 away to Piast Gliwice. Another home draw followed against Motor Lublin, before a narrow 1-0 defeat at Zagłębie Lubin on 11 April. That’s five games without a win. Not great.

The most recent defeat wasn’t a complete collapse, though it was another example of Radomiak failing to turn decent spells into points. They finished with more expected chances than Zagłębie in that game, but they couldn’t find the net and were beaten by Marcel Regula’s early strike. That sort of afternoon has become a theme. Their attack can create enough to compete, yet the finishing has let them down just when they need composure most. At the other end, they’ve also been too easy to rattle. A team that’s conceded in nine straight league games doesn’t get much room for error.

The odd thing is how different Radomiak look at home. Their league record at their own ground is far stronger: seven wins, four draws and only three defeats, with 27 goals scored and just 13 conceded. That’s an impressive home return for a side sitting 15th overall. They’ve been a lot harder to shift in front of their own supporters, and the goals tend to flow more freely there too. Still, the recent results suggest they’re not controlling games as cleanly as that home record implies. They’re leaving the door open. Too often.

Widzew Łódź Form & Analysis

Widzew arrive unbeaten in six, which sounds healthy enough, but the story underneath is a little mixed. Their latest result was a 1-0 home win over Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza on 11 April, decided late by Sebastian Bergier in the 89th minute. Before that, they held Raków Częstochowa to a 1-1 draw away, drew 0-0 at home with Górnik Zabrze, and shared another goalless stalemate away to MZKS Arka Gdynia. A 2-1 home win over Lech Poznań gave them a proper lift on 7 March, while the run also includes a 1-1 draw with GKS Katowice in the cup. They’re hard to beat. Frustratingly hard.

What stands out is how often Widzew drag games into narrow margins. They’ve only lost once since late February, and that tells you they’re organised and stubborn, even when they’re not sparkling. The flip side is obvious enough: goals don’t come easily. Their away league record is only 15th in the division, with three wins, two draws and nine defeats, plus 16 goals scored and 21 conceded. That’s a poor return on the road, and it explains why they’ve spent so much of the season hovering near danger rather than climbing clear of it. Can they really trust themselves away from home? The answer, on current evidence, is no.

There’s a defensive grit to this team, though. Widzew have gone through long stretches without being beaten, and their recent away draws at Raków and Arka show they can make stronger hosts work for everything. Aleksandar Vuković has them difficult to break down, and that usually gives them a chance in games like this. Still, the attack has been modest, and when you’re not scoring freely away from home, you’re always one mistake away from a costly afternoon.

Head-to-Head

This fixture has been a lively one. The most recent meeting saw Widzew win 3-2 at home on 17 October 2025, and that scoreline fits the broader pattern between the sides. Radomiak and Widzew have rarely played out dull, empty contests in recent seasons. The 1-1 draw in Radom in February 2025 was the exception rather than the rule, because the games around it have tended to be open and fairly rough around the edges.

Widzew also beat Radomiak 3-2 in August 2024 and 3-1 in Radom in May 2024, while Radomiak’s best response in that spell was the 3-0 away win in December 2023. There’s usually a goal or two in this pairing, and both teams have struggled to keep clean sheets against one another. That won’t be lost on either manager.

We Predict: Double Chance 1X

Double Chance 1X at 8/15 looks the right angle here. Radomiak’s home numbers are simply too solid to ignore, even if their overall form has been patchy. Seven wins from 14 home league games and just 13 goals conceded at their own ground gives them a reliable floor, and they’re facing a Widzew side whose away record is still fairly flimsy. That’s the key. Widzew are unbeaten in six, but most of those games have been tight draws, and they’ve only won three away league matches all season.

The scoreline feels like 1-1, which fits both the recent patterns and the xG projection of 1.2 to 1.1. Radomiak should get chances at home, Widzew are usually good enough to nick something, and neither side looks sharp enough to pull clear for long. If you wanted a more aggressive angle, both teams to score has plenty of appeal given the history between them and Radomiak’s run of conceding goals, but 1X is the steadier play. It’s hard to see Radomiak losing this.
