FK Spartak Subotica — Last 6
FK TSC Bačka Topola — Last 6

FK Spartak Subotica host FK TSC Bačka Topola on Thursday evening in the Mozzart Bet Superliga’s Relegation Round, and both sides arrive with different levels of pressure hanging over them. Spartak are trying to stop the slide and drag themselves clear of a miserable run that has seen results go against them almost every time they’ve stepped out. TSC, by contrast, are aiming to carry the momentum from a lively 4-1 win over Napredak Kruševac into a trip they ought to fancy. This is the sort of fixture where one team needs relief and the other wants control. Simple enough on paper. Rarely simple on the pitch.

There’s also a strong recent story between these two. TSC have had Spartak’s number for a while now, winning three of the last eight meetings and avoiding defeat in six of them. The last time they met in Subotica, TSC won 2-1 in December. Before that, they were 2-0 winners at home in August 2025. Spartak’s last home answer in this fixture was a 0-0 draw in December 2024. That’s the best they’ve managed in the recent run. Not much comfort there.

FK Spartak Subotica Form & Analysis

Spartak’s recent form reads like a side short on conviction and short on momentum. Their last six have brought just one win, and that came away at Radnički Niš on 14 March, a tidy 2-0 result that now feels a long way off. Since then, it’s been four straight defeats. They lost at home to IMT Beograd, then at home again to Javor Ivanjica, before slipping against Radnik Surdulica and finally going down 1-0 away to Javor last weekend. That latest defeat was especially frustrating because it was decided by an own goal from Nemanja Krsmanović in the 19th minute. That’s the kind of break a team in this sort of run simply doesn’t need.

The wider picture at home isn’t pretty either. Spartak have struggled to make their own ground count, and that’s been a big part of their season problems. They’ve been too easy to hold down, and too often they’ve started badly. The lack of clean sheets is a glaring issue, and it’s been feeding the rest of the mess. When you’re not keeping the door shut, every small mistake turns into a bigger one. Spartak have been conceding first far too often, and once they’re chasing games, they don’t look like a side built to chase back.

There are some faint signs they can still create chances. In the 3-2 defeat away to Crvena zvezda, they did at least score twice against elite opposition, which tells you they’re not entirely toothless. But that game also told the other side of the story: they can be stretched, and they can lose shape when the tempo rises. Against a team like TSC, who tend to attack with more urgency than the sides Spartak have been meeting lately, that defensive softness could be exposed again. They need a proper performance, not just a decent spell here and there. At the moment, they’re not delivering one.

FK TSC Bačka Topola Form & Analysis

TSC come in with a far healthier mood after their 4-1 home win over Napredak Kruševac on 19 April. That was a strong response to the 3-1 defeat at home to IMT Beograd earlier in the month, and it restored some balance to a run that had started to wobble. The win over Napredak was emphatic from the opening stages too. Andrej Todoroski struck after two minutes, Bogdan Petrović made it two by the quarter-hour, and by the break they were already cruising. Miloš Vulić and Dragoljub Savić added more before the end. That’s a proper attacking day at the office. No fuss. No panic.

The broader away picture is a bit more mixed, but not enough to dent the case for them here. TSC beat Napredak Kruševac 2-1 away on 4 April and also pushed Partizan hard in a 2-1 defeat in Belgrade on 14 March. That’s the key point. They don’t travel like a side that folds at the first sign of resistance. They’ve already shown they can score on the road and stay competitive against stronger opponents. Even in the draws at home against Radnički 1923 and Železničar Pančevo, there was a sense of control about them rather than drift. When TSC are on, they look organised enough to manage the game and sharp enough to punish lapses.

Still, they’re not flawless. The loss to IMT at home exposed a defence that can be bothered, and that’s worth keeping in mind. They’ve also gone three matches without a clean sheet, so this isn’t some iron wall we’re talking about. Yet the balance of their form is clearly better than Spartak’s. TSC are creating, scoring and generally carrying a bit more menace in the final third. The xG projection here leans their way too, with 1.4 expected goals to Spartak’s 1.1. That sounds about right. They’re the more reliable attacking side, and in a game where Spartak keep bleeding chances, that matters.

Head-to-Head

The recent meetings point pretty firmly in TSC’s direction. They’ve won the last two league games against Spartak, taking a 2-1 home win in August 2025 and another 2-1 success in Subotica in December. Before that came a 2-0 cup win in March 2025, so it’s three straight victories for TSC across two competitions. That’s a proper edge, not a coincidence.

There’s another pattern worth keeping in mind. These fixtures have produced goals more often than not, with both teams scoring in four of the last five meetings. Spartak have also failed to keep a clean sheet in three straight head-to-heads. That fits the current form neatly. TSC have been able to find openings, and Spartak haven’t been able to shut them down.

We Predict: Away Win

We’re backing Away Win at 4/5 here, and it looks the cleanest call on the card. TSC are the better side in the better shape, and they’ve already shown they know how to beat Spartak. The visitors have also just produced a convincing 4-1 win, while Spartak arrive on a four-match losing run with defensive worries all over the place. That’s not a profile you want to trust against a side with a recent scoring edge.

A 1-2 away win fits the match well. Spartak should be able to nick something at home — they’ve got enough about them to avoid being completely shut out — but TSC’s pace in attack and their stronger recent results should tell over 90 minutes. If you wanted a slightly more aggressive angle, TSC to win and both teams to score isn’t far off the picture either. Still, the straight away win is the best play.
