Göztepe — Last 6
Antalyaspor — Last 6

Göztepe host Antalyaspor at the Gürsel Aksel Stadium on Saturday evening in the Trendyol Süper Lig, and both clubs need something from it for very different reasons. For Stanimir Stoilov’s side, sixth place and 48 points put them inside the European conversation, but the race is tight enough that dropping points now would be painful. For Sami Uğurlu’s Antalyaspor, 14th place and 28 points is all about staying clear of trouble and finding a bit of breathing space before the season starts to bite.

This is not just a mid-table stroll. Göztepe have home ambition, a decent platform and a strong chance to push on from a solid campaign. Antalyaspor arrive with a weak away record and far too many defeats on their sheet. That said, they’ve still shown enough to nick goals and make life awkward, so this isn’t the sort of fixture Göztepe can treat casually. They’ll have to manage it properly.

There is some recent history here too, and it leans Göztepe’s way. They beat Antalyaspor 2-1 in Antalya in November 2025 and had already beaten them 1-0 in the league at home in January 2025. Before that, the meetings have often been tight, sometimes cagey, sometimes messy. This one has the feel of a home side that should control the territory, against a visitor who’ll be looking for scraps and transitions.

Göztepe Form & Analysis

Göztepe’s recent run has been a bit of everything. They came away from Kocaelispor with a 1-1 draw on 18 April, but the result tells only part of the story. They were under pressure for long spells, with Kocaelispor piling on shots and big chances, and Göztepe needed a late penalty to rescue a point. Before that, they drew 3-3 at home to Kasımpaşa in a wild game that flipped back and forth, then lost 3-1 at home to Galatasaray. They did at least beat Gençlerbirliği 2-0 away on 4 April, but the broader picture is of a side that hasn’t had much control lately.

There’s no need to dress that up. Three games without a win is not ideal when you’re trying to hold sixth place. Still, Göztepe aren’t floundering either. They’ve been hard to beat for most of the campaign, and their home record is the real reason they’re sitting where they are. At the Gürsel Aksel Stadium they’ve taken 25 points from 15 matches, with six wins, seven draws and only two defeats. They’ve scored 20 and conceded 13 at home, which is tidy rather than spectacular, but it’s the kind of base that keeps a team in the upper part of the table.

What stands out is that they usually find a way to get on the board. That’s been true at home and in the wider run as well. The flip side? They’re not locking teams out. The 3-3 with Kasımpaşa and the 2-2 against Alanyaspor showed that if Göztepe lose shape or game control, the match can open up quickly. Even so, with Stoilov’s team first to score in four of their last five, they often dictate the early tone. That matters here. If they get in front, Antalyaspor will have to chase a game they don’t often control away from home.

There’s also a decent amount of fighting spirit in this side. The late point at Kocaelispor was earned after a stop-start match, a red card and a penalty intervention deep into stoppage time. It wasn’t elegant, but it showed resilience. You’d expect that sort of edge at home too. Göztepe don’t need to be brilliant to win this. They just need to be cleaner than they were in the last fortnight.

Antalyaspor Form & Analysis

Antalyaspor arrive with a far shakier look. They lost 2-0 at home to Konyaspor on 17 April, which followed a 4-2 defeat at Beşiktaş and came after a bright 3-0 home win over Eyüpspor. That win over Eyüpspor feels like the outlier rather than the start of a surge. Before it, they had drawn 0-0 at Başakşehir, but the run around that point is ugly: a 4-1 home defeat to Gaziantep, then a 1-0 loss away to Çaykur Rizespor. Too many defeats, too little control. Simple as that.

Their league position reflects it. Fourteenth place with 28 points and a goal difference of minus 19 is the profile of a side that’s spent too much of the season on the back foot. They’ve scored 30 and conceded 49 overall, and the away figures are even more telling. On the road, Antalyaspor have picked up just 13 points from 15 matches, with three wins, four draws and eight losses. They’ve scored only nine away goals and conceded 16. That’s not the record of a team travelling with much confidence.

Can they nick one here? Of course. They’ve shown enough attacking quality to do damage in patches, and their 4-2 defeat at Beşiktaş was not a total no-show going forward. But you can’t ignore the overall trend. Away from home they’re blunt far too often, and if they fall behind early, they don’t look like a side that can suddenly flood the box and force the issue. Antalyaspor have also lost their last match, and they’ve won only once in their last six league outings. That’s a poor return for a team with safety to secure.

Mind you, there’s been the odd clean sheet in the mix, which at least suggests they can occasionally tighten up. The 0-0 at Başakşehir was one of those days. The problem is that it’s followed far too often by a collapse, and the defensive numbers are hard to shrug off. When a team has conceded 49 in the league and only 16 away from home, you don’t expect them to go to a place like Göztepe and dominate the game. They’ll probably spend long spells trying to survive it.

Head-to-Head

This fixture has tended to lean Göztepe lately. They won 2-1 at Antalyaspor in the league on 30 November 2025 and beat them 1-0 at home in January 2025. A 1-0 home win in the friendly meeting last July sits in the background too, and before that there was a 0-0 draw in Antalya in August 2024. Go back a bit further and Göztepe also thumped Antalyaspor 4-0 in January 2022, which is the kind of result that lingers.

The broader pattern is pretty clear. Göztepe are unbeaten in seven of the last eight meetings listed here, and Antalyaspor haven’t had much joy when the pair cross paths. That doesn’t guarantee anything on Saturday evening, but it does fit the current shape of the contest: Göztepe with the better platform, the stronger home record and the more reliable recent edge in this matchup.

We Predict: Home Win

We’re backing Göztepe to win this at 4/6. They’ve got the better home record, the better league position and the more dependable habit of getting on the scoresheet first. Antalyaspor’s away form is the killer detail here. Three away wins all season, nine goals scored on the road, and a defence that keeps leaking. That’s not the profile of a team you fancy to go and take three points from a top-six side in decent enough shape at home.

The 2-1 correct score looks the right call as well. Göztepe aren’t shutting teams out with any great regularity, so a clean sheet feels a touch optimistic, but they should still have enough to edge it. A home win with both teams scoring is the alternative route I’d keep in mind, especially with Göztepe’s recent habit of matches opening up late and Antalyaspor having just enough attacking threat to land a reply. But the main angle stays simple. Göztepe win this, and they probably have to work for it.
