Real Betis — Last 6
Elche — Last 6

Real Betis welcome Elche to the Benito Villamarín on Tuesday evening in LaLiga, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side looking to keep hold of fifth place and tighten their grip on European qualification. They’re on 54 points and sitting above the pack chasing the continental spots, so this isn’t a run-of-the-mill spring fixture. It matters. Every point now has weight, especially with the table still bunched enough to punish any late wobble.

Elche arrive in 16th on 39 points, which is not comfortable territory at all. They’re above the drop zone, but not by enough to relax. Eder Sarabia’s side have done enough in recent weeks to keep themselves moving in the right direction, yet this is a nasty assignment away from home, and one they’ve struggled with all season. One away win. One. That tells its own story.

Betis, for their part, are chasing the sort of finish that keeps momentum alive into next season’s European campaign. Elche need points more urgently, but there’s a real gap in quality here and the league positions reflect that. Home advantage matters in Spain. For Betis, it matters a lot.

Real Betis Form & Analysis

Betis are coming in with a decent rhythm, even if the 2-2 draw at Real Sociedad on 9 May felt a little frustrating in the moment. They had enough attacking punch to lead twice through Antony and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, and they’d have expected to close it out once they’d done the hard part. Instead, Mikel Oyarzabal’s late penalty stole two points. That’s the sort of result that leaves you feeling both encouraged and annoyed.

Before that, they beat Real Oviedo 3-0 at home, which was exactly the kind of controlled performance you want from a side pushing for Europe. They’d already held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in Seville, and a few days earlier they’d gone to Girona and won 3-2. That was a proper away win too — open, tense, and full of threat. You can see the trend. Betis are scoring regularly, they’re hard to keep down, and they’ve gone four league matches unbeaten since the loss to Sporting Braga in the Europa League knockout stage. That Braga defeat stung, but it hasn’t knocked them off course domestically.

At home, Betis have been strong enough to justify favouritism. Their league record in Seville reads eight wins, six draws and just three defeats, with 30 goals scored and only 17 conceded. That’s a solid platform, especially the defensive side of it. They’re not airtight, but they don’t give opponents much for free. The attacking numbers are healthy too, and there’s a nice balance to their play at the Villamarín — enough control to build pressure, enough quality to turn it into goals. They’ve also been a lively BTTS side, and that’s no accident given their openness at times. Still, at home they’ve got a habit of staying on the front foot. That’s the key here.

The flip side? Betis don’t always make life simple. They can give away chances, and the late penalty at Real Sociedad was a reminder that concentration can slip. But this is a side with momentum, home comfort, and a clear incentive to stay aggressive. Against an opponent who’s been dreadful away from home, you’d expect Pellegrini’s team to spend long spells on top.

Elche Form & Analysis

Elche’s recent form has been patchier, although there are some signs they’ve got enough fight to avoid being rolled over easily. Their 1-1 draw at home to Deportivo Alavés on 9 May was a fairly even game, with Toni Martínez scoring from the spot before Álvaro Rodriguez levelled it after the break. They created chances, they were in the contest, and they didn’t fold. That matters.

Before that, though, they ran into trouble at Celta Vigo and lost 3-1. That followed a fine 2-1 win away to Real Oviedo, which was a proper lift, and a pair of home victories over Atlético Madrid and Valencia. Those wins deserve proper credit. Beating Atlético 3-2 and edging Valencia 1-0 showed they can rise to the occasion when the match suits them. But the road form keeps dragging them back. They’ve only won one away game all season, and that’s simply nowhere near enough. One win, four draws and twelve defeats on their travels. That’s grim. It’s the sort of record that leaves you climbing uphill before the game’s even started.

The away numbers are especially harsh. Elche have conceded 35 goals in 17 away matches, and they’ve scored 17 themselves, which means they’re usually in a chase rather than a contest. Even when they’re competitive, they don’t often keep the door shut. That’s been a recurring issue. Their broader league record of 46 scored and 54 conceded suggests a side that can contribute to entertaining games but lacks the defensive backbone to turn those performances into dependable results. They’ve been involved in plenty of matches where both sides have found the net, and that’s a pattern that will worry them here, because Betis won’t need much encouragement.

Still, Elche aren’t arriving with no confidence at all. Their home wins over Atlético and Valencia were real boosts, and they’ve shown they can scrap. But away to a top-five side with far stronger numbers at home, scrapping alone probably won’t be enough. Can they keep Betis quiet for 90 minutes? Based on everything we’ve seen this season, that’s a big ask.

Head-to-Head

Betis have had the edge in this fixture for a while, and the recent meetings back that up. The most recent clash came in the Copa del Rey on 14 January 2026, when Betis beat Elche 2-1. In LaLiga last August, the teams drew 1-1 in Elche, which is one of the few times the visitors have managed to put up a real roadblock.

Go a little further back and the picture tilts even more clearly towards Betis. They beat Elche 3-0 at home in August 2022, won 3-2 away in February 2023, and picked up another 3-1 win at home in November 2020. Elche did take a 1-0 win in Seville in April 2022, so this hasn’t been a one-way street every single time. Mind you, the overall pattern is still pretty clear. Betis usually find a way through, and Elche haven’t often been able to turn this into a scrap on even terms.

We Predict: Home Win

We’re backing Real Betis to win this at 8/13. If you want to dig a bit deeper here, the correct score tips page pulls together correct score tips if you want a higher-variance angle built from match state and scoring patterns. That price looks fair enough for a side with a strong home record, better form, and a much cleaner league profile than Elche. Pellegrini’s team are scoring regularly, they’re unbeaten in four league games, and they’ve already shown at home this season that they can handle teams with quality. Elche, by contrast, have been poor on the road. One away win all year is no foundation for confidence in a venue like this.

The 2-1 correct score appeals too. Betis have enough attacking quality to get in front, but they don’t always keep things neat at the back, and Elche have scored in enough of their recent games to nick one if the game opens up. A home win with both teams scoring feels right. If you want a slightly safer route, Betis to win and over 1.5 goals is a sensible alternative.
