Widzew Łódź — Last 6
Motor Lublin — Last 6

Widzew Łódź and Motor Lublin meet at the wrong end of the Ekstraklasa table, with both clubs still having plenty to play for on Sunday afternoon in Łódź. Widzew sit 17th on 33 points, a position that leaves them looking over their shoulder rather than dreaming ahead, while Motor are much healthier in eighth on 39. That gap in the standings doesn’t tell the full story. Widzew’s home record has kept them afloat, and Motor have been one of those awkward mid-table sides who can look lively one week and loose the next.

There’s also a bit of tension in the background. Widzew have not been easy to beat at home, but they’ve been short on control for much of the season. Motor, meanwhile, have scored enough to stay comfortable, yet they’ve conceded far too often for a team trying to push up the division. This has the feel of a game where both sides can find the net, but neither fully trusts the other. That usually points one way. It won’t be a classic clean-sheet job.

The recent meeting between the clubs adds another layer. Motor beat Widzew 3-0 in Lublin in October 2025, and they also won 2-1 in Łódź in April 2025. Widzew did get the better of a wild 4-3 game in October 2024, so there’s no shortage of goals when these two cross paths. Sunday should be no different if both teams stick to type.

Widzew Łódź Form & Analysis

Widzew come into this one after a hard-luck trip to Radomiak Radom on 18 April, where they lost 2-1 despite never really looking in charge of the contest. The numbers from that game were ugly enough: 0.24 expected goals, 7 shots to Radomiak’s 20, and no big chances created. That’s not a one-off blip so much as a reminder of Widzew’s limits away from home. They were second-best for long spells and only found something late, with Christos Donis’ own goal and Roberto Alves’ strike setting the tone before Luquinhas’ stoppage-time reply gave the scoreline a slightly kinder look.

Before that, though, there was a proper lift at home. Widzew beat Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza 1-0 on 11 April, a tight, organised win that fits their season at their own ground. They then held Raków Częstochowa to a 1-1 draw away from home on 4 April, and before that came two goalless draws, against Górnik Zabrze and MZKS Arka Gdynia. Sandwiched around that run was the 2-1 home win over Lech Poznań on 7 March, which showed they can still land a punch when given space to attack. It’s a mixed picture, but not a weak one. They’re grinding.

At home, Widzew’s record is the main reason they’re not deeper in trouble. They’ve won six, drawn four and lost four at their own ground, scoring 17 and conceding 14. Those numbers are steady rather than flashy. The clean sheets have been useful, yet there’s a catch: they don’t score heavily enough to turn tight games into comfortable ones. Still, a home side with six wins in 14 and just 14 goals conceded at the same venue isn’t easy to dismiss. Their issue is control. They can be compact, then suddenly passive. You see it in the scorelines. A 1-0 here, a 0-0 there, then a slip when the game opens up.

Motor Lublin Form & Analysis

Motor’s recent run has been more eventful. They lost 3-2 away to GKS Katowice on 17 April in a game that was lively from the start and never really settled down. Motor actually threatened enough to keep themselves in it, with an xG of 1.67, eight shots on target and two big chances created. Eman Marković scored twice, Karol Czubak and Bartosz Nowak also found the net, and for a while it looked as though they’d do enough to nick something. They didn’t. GKS were sharper where it mattered, and Motor were punished for leaving gaps. Mind you, that sort of game tells you plenty about them. They can score. They can also let it slip.

Before that defeat, there was a tidy 1-1 draw at home to Raków Częstochowa on 12 April, followed by another 1-1 away at Radomiak Radom on 6 April. Motor also beat Zagłębie Lubin 1-0 at home on 20 March and had a 2-1 away win at Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza on 13 March, either side of a 0-0 with Górnik Zabrze. So the story is pretty clear: they’ve been hard to shut out, but just as hard to trust. They go on runs where a draw feels inevitable, then they open up and chaos follows.

Their away record backs that up. Motor are 10th on the road with four wins, four draws and six defeats, and they’ve scored 19 times away from home while conceding 27. That’s a lot of goals both ways. It tells you they’re capable of carrying a threat, but they’re also too open when the game becomes stretched. On the road, they’ve been far more vulnerable than their league position suggests. Can they keep things tighter in Łódź? That’s the question. The answer so far has often been no.

Still, they’ve been reliable enough going forward to carry real BTTS appeal in matches like this. They’ve found the net in plenty of recent fixtures, including against stronger opposition, and that away-goals count is healthy. The problem is that it rarely comes without a concession. A mid-table side with 43 goals against in the league doesn’t often travel like a team that can shut the door. They tend to leave it ajar.

Head-to-Head

Recent meetings have been lively, and Motor have had the edge. They beat Widzew 3-0 in Lublin in October 2025, then followed that up with a 2-1 win in Łódź in April 2025. Widzew’s big response came in October 2024, when they won a wild 4-3 game at home. That one had everything — and then some. Goals have been the common thread.

There’s no sign here of a rivalry built on caution. Quite the opposite. Four of the last meetings between the clubs have produced goals at both ends, and the sense is that neither side is built to sit back for long. Even the older clashes, going back to their 1. Liga days, were tight and modest, but the current Ekstraklasa version of this fixture has been much less restrained.

We Predict: Both Teams To Score

Both Teams To Score at 8/11 is the play here, and it feels a fair price for a match that should see chances at both ends. Widzew have been far more dependable at home than they are on the road, but they’ve still got the habit of giving something up. Motor, for their part, arrive with a clear record of scoring away from home and conceding too. That combination is exactly what you want for BTTS.

The recent head-to-head adds weight too. These teams have already produced a 2-1 and a 3-0 in Motor’s favour over the past year, plus that 4-3 Widzew win. Add in Motor’s shaky road defending and Widzew’s need to make home advantage count, and a 1-1 draw feels like the cleanest call. The xG lean is only slightly in Widzew’s direction at 1.4 to 0.9, so this isn’t a game screaming goals, but it does point to one each more than it points to a shutout. If you wanted a small alternative, under 3.5 goals has some appeal too. Still, BTTS is the sharper angle.
